Wanderlust
/ wɒndəlʌst/
Noun
A strong, innate desire to travel

It’s Season 5 of Wanderlust Greece and our presenters are off to the islands of the North Aegean. Ikaria, Samos, Lesvos, Chios and Limnos. A collection of magical isles totally authentic and unspoilt… all the way down to their ancient Greek roots.

Love here comes at first sight, but understanding what makes these island gems tick is another story.

On Ikaria, we join in the fun at a village festival (you don’t have to wait long for one to come around!) and learn that sitting on the sidelines isn’t an option. And we feel for the greengrocer whose job it is to have his shelves stacked with vegetables by 8 o’clock. Until we learn that it’s 8pm. That’s when the village wakes up.

MEET OUR GUEST PRESENTER
Μary Retsina Radio Producer - Voiceover Artist - Sloth Lover

Mary Retsina was born in Athens and was almost a New Year’s Eve baby.  Growing up, she hosted her imaginary radio show every day, always with the same guest, Sir Paul McCartney.

She made her professional start at a major record company, went on to work behind the scenes in production companies and TV shows and today she is a radio producer at Hit 88.9 (daily, 10 am - 4 pm), a voiceover artist in radio, TV, and film and a presenter of major events, such as Art Of Motion, the worldwide freerunning tournament in Santorini.

Eventually, she realized that the only things that make her happy are the pursuit of freedom, and burgers. In a world full of burgers, the ultimate expression of freedom is traveling.

This is the essence of traveling, according to Mary: a change that enhances the mind in the most substantial way.
